Keeping the standard of clean set on high, Hoover introduces the new Windtunnel T-Series family of bagless upright vacuums, combining a sleek lightweight design with superior cleaning power that is easy to use with a practical price. This hi-tech bagless…
This vacuum is everything I'd hoped it would be, and I'd recommend it to anyone in the market for an upright in the range of $100. However, I would have to give anyone interested the following information before buying.
Pro's:
-The suction is great.
-Vacuum itself is lightweight.
-Cord winds up with the touch of a button.
-Canister is easily removed to dump the collected dirt and trash.
-Adjustable settings allow you to vacuum thick carpet or bare floor.
Con's:
-Hose connections are not quite long enough for certain tasks
-Recall was issued on this vacuum (dependent on date manufactured and date code printed on product) due to rewind feature and possible fire/shock hazard.
-Spinning Brush head continues to spin even when hose has been disconnected, or when vacuum is locked in upright position, creating continuous movement over carpet and potential carpet damage.

If you've never used a Rainbow, you're in for a shock. With regular upright bag vacuums, dust particles escape through the pinpoint size holes in the bags. The water canister that sits under the Rainbow actually traps dirt, dust, etc. in the water as…

I purchased this because I love the brand and it seemed to be just what I needed. It worked wonderfully but on my third use it started making a loud noise and smelling bad. I checked the belt (obvious one) and it was perfectly fine. Checked the intake and it wasn't clogged. Made sure everything else was clean... and I am left wondering why it just up and died. I only used it on my laminate flooring for small dust and the normal stuff you wind up with on floors. It will turn on but makes the noise and won't suck. I've contacted Hoover so I am going to base my review on what happens after that. I've never had a problem with vacuums before.
Based on all the glowing reviews I think I might have just got a bad egg.... I'll update my rating and review once I find out.

I had a Hoover Elite for nearly 20 years and I loved it. It was a workhorse, but it gave out right before Christmas in 2007. In a hurry to get a new vacuum to prepare for guests, I purchased a Dirt Devil. It was a disaster from the beginning. It blew dust everywhere instead of sucking it and although it was lightweight, there was no convenient place to grab it. The onboard attachments were very short so the vacuum HAD to be picked up to actually use them. I could go on and on about the negatives so I was not all that unhappy when it broke - except it was on Christmas day 2009 as I was doing the last minute vacuuming prior to picking up my house guest at the airport. This time I determined I would get a good vacuum cleaner even if it meant I had to go without vacuuming for awhile. Fortunately, I found this one and when it arrived, it was fairly easy to assemble. When I used it, I was very happy to have the power of Hoover back. Even though I had not been able to thoroughly vacuum for a few weeks, it sucked up pet fur with only 1 or 2 passes (instead of the 8-10 passes the Dirt Devil required) and took less time to vacuum my entire house than it took to vacuum a 6x9 area rug with the Dirt Devil. This is definitely a worthwhile purchase. it's not the prettiest vacuum in the world, but it more than makes up for lack of glamorous looks by how well it works. I highly recommend this vacuum.
Update: It's been about 1-1/2 years since my first review and I still LOVE this vacuum!

If you have carpets, get a vacuum with motorized brushes. The well designed EL6984A deserves its high customer reviews for excellent results on bare floors, dusting, picking up pet hair, and quiet operation. The suction is adjustable using either or both the motor power control on the canister and the air gap slide on the hose handle. Lowering the power often results in more effective pet hair removal from upholstery or fabrics. The canister follows you as you vacuum rolling easily on 2 big rear wheels and a small 360 degree swiveling front wheel. The vacuum is very quiet on its low setting, moderately louder at maximum power, but my scaredy-cat still leaves the room I'm vacuuming. The combination dust brush/upholstery and crevice tools work well. The 24-foot cord allows minimum changing of sockets and the cord retractor works flawlessly. I'm looking for a vacuuming apron with two front pockets to solve the lack of a tool caddy. I bought the vacuum from Amazon for $215 plus 8.875% sales tax with free shipping to NYC. It arrived in 4 business days via UPS. The extra bags I ordered arrived a few days later. Saved $85 off the local stores (Macy's, Penny's, Target, Best Buy) prices. Totally pleased with the whole transaction.

We've had this vacuum about four months now and it gets the job done. It's easy to use despite its somewhat hefty weight and size. The "twist" handle system is a nice feature and works very well, making it easy to maneuver around furniture, etc. The headlight is another nice feature and the cord is plenty long.
The negatives are the as follows: One of the LED lights in the band of lights that make up the headlight quit, it doesn't have as quite much suction as I think it should for a vacuum that costs this much, and the bags, while big, are VERY expensive. One design issue others have commented on is that the cord has to be completely unwound to use the wand.
Overall it's a nice vacuum, and it seems well built and likely to last a good long time, but I think there are vacuums out there that offer better value.

LG’s new LcV900B KOMPRESSOR Canister PetCare Plus Vacuum Cleaner packs many of the innovative features LG has become known for into a low-profile canister model. The KOMPRESSOR technology allows you to pick up 3 times more dirt, dust and pet hair before…
After 3 weeks of research and trips to Best Buy, we decided to go for the LG Kompressor. It was the best decision we made. My wife can not stop vacuuming. The vacuum is easy to handle, makes very little noise, the kids can watch tv and play while she is vacuuming, no more running outside the house when the noisy vacuum comes :)
The compressor part of the dust bin works great. It compresses all the dirt together, so you do not have particles of dirt flying around in the dust bin. It is very easy to clean and no bags needed. The vacuum has great suction, both on tile and rugs. We have a big house of 2800 sq feet, We've been using it for 2 weeks now, every other day we vacuum and it is great!!!!

Electrolux Home Care Products Airspeed AS1001A Upright Vacuum Cleaner AS1001A Vacuum Cleaners
I have had this vacumn for about a month. I do not think I have had it long enough to write a appropriate review, but I know I will not remember to do it a year from now! I bought this to replace a $200 Kenmore that I had for two years. Two years is good for me. I usually have to replace them every year. I have 4 kids and 3 German Shephers...therefore I vacumn every day, sometimes twice a day. I really like the Eureka Airpeed . The first time I vacumned with it.... I was SHOCKED (at a little grossed out) at how much dirt/hair it got up. I did a 3x3 area and it almost filled the canister! It has great suction. I have low area rugs and this vacumn gets everything up, even dog hair. It also do very good on hard wood floors. It is easy to empty, but the filter and the area around it get DIRTY FAST. I have to clean it alot. I did not think that it would be that dirty that fast, but it started losing suction and I looked any it was not geting any air flow. As soon as I cleaned it, it went back to cleaning perfectly. It is very easy and pretty quick to clean. I rinse the filter about once a weeks. The cord is not quite long as I would like and it falls off the clip a lot while vacumning. It also does not have a light. My favorite thing about the Eureka AirSpeed is the power of the hose! It is equal to a shop vac! It is awesome. The attachments stay on the vacumn nicely (while in use and while not in use). It also gets very close the walls, unlike my old one. If you do not mind a little…

Quick cleaning with no strings attached. This stick vac weighs less than 5 lbs to easily get into spaces where pet hair lingers. Picks up dirt from bare floors and carpets.
This is the most awesome appliance. It cleans carpets, tile, and hardwood floor with ease. I bought one a few years ago that finally died and this model is even better.

I wasn't sure if I would like this roomba but I'm happy with my purchase. I use it to clean a medium size living room/dining room. It's pretty stupid and seems to have favorite areas that it stays in but it eventually gets the room done. I turn it on when I'm about to go to bed then play hide and seek in the morning until I find it to recharge.

After MUCH research I finally settled on this one for the house. We have hard wood floors. I found one link where all seven people gave it 5 stars. I totally agree.
It's quiet and has plenty of suction power. I was hoping to get a bagless vac but couldn't find one I really liked.
Keep in mind this is a plastic vacuum. I miss the old school cast iron, heavy, metal vacs with metal tubes and attachments. But now a days everything is plastic. With that in mind I give this 5 stars.
It rolls great. The cord retractor works great. The little hose and tool holder is really nice. The heads roll and swivel really well.
So far no complaints. Have only had it about a month. Used it a few times.
It's so easy to get out and use. I don't have that lazy feeling when I need to grab it real quick to vacuum up a small area suddenly. It's quick to grab and get going.
